Houston Rodeo...Yee Haa!!!

This past Saturday we went to the Houston Rodeo at Reliant Park (where the Houston Texans and Astros play) with The Calder Family. It was very different from the OC fair and somehow I forgot to wear my boots, rolled up really short jean shorts and cowboy hat...what was I thinking. I definitely knew we were not in California anymore. We saw the Live stock show, which consists of award winning cows and pigs, some goats and sheep and horses. We even got to see a cow right after she had given birth and her baby running around getting used to his legs. It was really cool!

I can't speak for everyone else, but I had the best baked potato I have ever had. Who ever thought of putting chopped BBQ brisket on top of a cheese filled baked potato was a culinary god!! We also had funnel cake and Beignets which are AMAZING!!  Fair food is always the best.

We didn't actually see the Rodeo, but next year we plan on getting tickets so we can see some bull riding.  Caitlin and I have decided to work on our Rodeo outfit for next year early so we are prepared and ready for next years big event.  Here are some pictures from our trip

Really...do we need Chicken Fried Bacon????

Texas Rain

Being from California, I have never really experienced weather until we moved to Texas.  It is crazy how one minute it is 80 degrees and the other it is pouring down rain.  Last week we had our first rain storm, and let me tell you it was a doozy!!!  The day before the storm came it was 85 degrees and when we woke up the next morning it was in the high 40's...crazy.  And Texas rain isn't like California rain at all...it is much harder and more intense.   Here is a picture of some of the rain we have been experiencing!!

Happy 4 Month Birthday Indiana

Indiana is finally 4 months old and she is growing and changing everyday.  She has learned to roll over, but only from her tummy to her back and is working on her back to tummy.  She almost has it.  Because she has learned to roll from her tummy to her back, she has developed a new game at nap/night night time where she rolls over about 15 times before she actually goes to sleep.  She doesn't like sleeping on her back so in the middle of the night when she wakes up and realizes she is on her back, she starts to cry.  This happened about 5 time last night...ugh!!!

She has also started eating a little bit of Rice Cereal (video to come) and she actually seems to like it.  It takes her a minute or two to figure out what's in her mouth, but then she is all about eating real food.

Indiana is also really into sitting up lie a big girl, so we have decided to buy a Bumbo Seat so she can sit up and look around.  She was at a friends house who has one and she loved it.  It is crazy the things that kids like and don't like.

Here are Indiana's 4 month old pictures that we took a week ago.  Super cute if I say so myself.

A Texas Sized Adventure!

Well, we are finally here in the big state of Texas, and wow is it big!!  I know it has been a while since I have posted an update, but our life has been a little busy these past few months.  We packed up everything and moved to Cypress, TX to make a better life for our family.  Having been here just over a week, our lives have been turned upside down and we are just trying to get used to our new surroundings.

We really like it here so far, but nothing could be like home.  We miss it so much and can't wait to go back and visit really soon.  We really miss our family and friends and sometimes we think "did we make the right decisions?"  I am sure with time the answer will be more clear.

Indiana is now almost 4 months old...can you believe it??  She is growing so quickly and I feel like everyday she does something new.  She is a whooping 11.5 lbs and is starting to roll over.  We are in for it now!!  She is pushing up on her tummy and even pulls her legs up into the air so she kind of looks like a seal...it is very cute.  She is adjusting well, even thought she has been sick, teething and really cranky.  Here are some pictures of Indy and I promise to post pictures of our new house very soon.
